Boys Lacrosse
Play for your town! Bedford competes against local towns as a member of the Mass Youth Lacrosse League. We have amazing kids, wonderful coaches, and a fantastic parent community that work together so our kids experience (the best) team sport and enjoy our hometown!
Programs offered
Classic (grades 1-8)
Competitive, but fun. Everyone plays.
Games are on Sundays.
Coaches work very hard to ensure equal playing time and an opportunity to play all positions throughout the season.
Select (grades 5-8)
Select teams offer more competitive play, position specialization, and more games for those who love the sport.
Select games are Friday nights, plus one additional practice per week.
Select players MUST also play on a Classic team.
Ages
Boys in grades 1-8
Players are on bi-grade teams: Boys 1/2, Boys 3/4, Boys 5/6, Boys 7/8.
When
Lacrosse is a spring sport.
The season runs from late March through mid-June.
Pre-season training information is communicated by coaches.
Where
We practice on town fields (JGMS, Wilson, BHS Sabourin).
Home games are hosted at Sabourin field (the turf).
Away games are generally 20-35 minutes drive.
Practices
Teams have two 90-minute practices each week. Days and times vary by age level and may change year to year. See the annual practice schedule under the Resources tab.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
Example: Teams will play 8-10 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.
Uniforms
New players, please order a uniform here.
The uniform store contains both boys and girls uniforms - make selections carefully!
Returning players can wear last year's uniform.
Lost or outgrown it? Order what you need!
Required Equipment
Here's what you need to play lacrosse:
- Lacrosse stick
- Helmet
- Pads (shoulders, elbows)
- Protective cup
- Cleats
- Mouthguard
Lacrosse Unlimited in Burlington and Brine Sports in Concord are two local shops that sell lacrosse gear.
Cost
Program fees are as follows:
- Grades 1/2: $240
- Grades 3/4, 5/6, 7/8: $340
- Select: $140

Why can't I register?
If you don't see a registration option in the right hand side of your screen, we are either in-season or still preparing for our next season. The best time to register is September - January for a season that runs March - June.

2025 Classic
BYL offers a standard spring sports season for boys in grades 1-8.
Preseason for Grades 5-8 (only) at The Edge on Tuesdays in January up to February vacation.
Four preseason practices in March for Grades 1-8.
Season: Teams practice twice a week on weekdays. Schedule TBD.
